The Brewster Education Foundation will be hosting their annual golf outing at Centennial Golf Club in Carmel on Thursday, May 14th at 1pm. As many of you know, we have a great tradition of honoring invaluable members of our community and schools. The tradition continues this year, as we honor one of our own.
This past year, we lost a beloved member of the Brewster Education Foundation, Meryl DiDio. Meryl was not just a board member; she was the driving force of the golf outing, the smiling face at every event, and a calm voice of reason.
Meryl’s commitment to the Brewster Education Foundation spanned many years, during which she served as a trustee and a tireless advocate for our mission to enhance educational opportunities for all Brewster students. She helped shape our work on grants, scholarships, and fundraising events, always pushing us to think about how we could do a little more and reach a few more students and teachers. Whether it was pitching in at a gala, supporting a new initiative, or quietly taking on the unglamorous tasks that keep a volunteer organization running, Meryl showed up—fully and wholeheartedly—every time.
Beyond her formal roles, what will stay with us most is who Meryl was as a person. She had a warm, thoughtful presence that made everyone feel welcome and supported. She listened carefully, asked smart questions, and had a special gift for finding common ground. She was just an all-around great person, and she will be deeply missed.
It’s with great pride that we rename the annual golf outing the Meryl DiDio Memorial Golf Outing benefitting the Brewster Education Foundation. You will be missed, our friend.
